27 years experience creating and managing the creation of construction definition for all manner of private, commercial, and government vessel structures and systems.

5 years of hands-on FRP and aluminum boat building experience, including structures, fabrications, systems, and interior outfitting. 

Technical Writing

16 years experience creating of performance, component, and contract specifications, project plans, regulatory agency communications, contract position papers, subcontract agreements, and many other technical and business communications.

Testing, Trials, and Problem Solving

26 years defining, conducting, and recording a wide variety of tests and trials demonstrating product performance.  Included new product and material testing, from writing test procedures to post-test analysis.  Considerable experience problem solving under extreme schedule and contract constraints by combining scientific analysis and physical testing.

Small Craft Design

In 22 years, approximately forty vessels designed for a wide variety of private, commercial, and government applications.  Designs in service include monohull and catamaran hull forms operating at displacement and planing speeds for commercial fishing, oil spill response, police patrol, fire fighting, pilotage, general utility, passenger, and training. 

Vessel Operation

Experienced operator of power and sailing craft to ~100' in length, ~100 tons displacement, and ~50 knots maximum speed.  Approximately 30,000 miles of open ocean and 30 years local cruising experience.
